Karissa John deserves some shine and we’re here to tell you why!
Wisdom and Royalty would like to share the Artist Spotlight with Karissa John. I have known Karissa for about a year now and automatically we connected to where we’ve grown as a great support system mentally. As creatives, no conversation is ever a bore and overtime, Malik and I have truly appreciated the works created by Karissa John. I mean, her paintings are breathtaking! Karissa, currently residing in New York, is in her senior year at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. I remember, one of the first conversations we had- she told me why it was her passion to create the paintings she’s done. Frustrated by the lack of ‘African/Melanated/Black’ representation in the art displayed at her university, Karissa set out to paint our people in an impressively positive manner. Which brings us to her feature today, a year later and Karissa’s Solo Art Exhibition is here! Karissa brings us “BLACK ELEVATION”!
